What is NIA

NIA is a National Investigation Agency. Its task is to stop terrorist activities within the country and at the same time end terrorism in India. The Government of India has given many special powers to the NIA.

How was NIA formed?

The NIA was formed on 31 December 2008 under the National Investigation Agency Act 2008 passed by the Indian Parliament.

NIA was formed to eliminate the growing terrorist activities in the country and to crack down on the anti-national forces. After the terrorist attack in Mumbai in the year 2008, the need of an investigative agency was felt, which could keep an eye on terrorist activities by staying under the central government. Along with this, along with investigating the incidents, they can expose them in time. So that terrorist activities can be stopped.

How To Get Job In NIA

Qualifications For NIA Job

To get a job in NIA, a candidate has to clear the CGL entrance exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).

In this, you have to clear all the 4 stages of CGL exam. Then after this your medical or physical examination is done and then after this there is an interview. Then the candidate is selected on the basis of final merit. When you get selected, then after completing the training period, you join the NIA.

Apart from CGL, you can join NIA after clearing UPSC exam and interview and fitness test.

Age Limit For NIA

To get the job in NIA, the candidate should be minimum 18 years and maximum 30 years. Apart from this, there is also a provision of relaxation in the age limit for the candidates belonging to the reserved category.

Qualification For NIA

To get a job in NIA, you must have a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university. You can choose either SSC CGL exam or UPSC exam for NIA job.

Height for NIA

To get the job of NIA, the height of the female candidate is 150 cm. And the height of male candidate should be 170 cm. SC/ST category candidates get a relaxation of 5 cms.
